If you are not seeing correct contact information in the GAL for someone that has a valid email address (i.e.
someone who just received a CSUS email account, a new student, someone who recently changed their directory information) please use the steps below to synchronize your computer's locally cached version of the GAL.
Outlook 2011 for Mac does not use Exchange Cached mode and directly connects to the Global Address Book.
In other words, your PC or device does not store any GAL information locally.
In this case your global address book will update each time Send/Receive is pressed.
Note for Mac Users: Mac versions of Outlook do not connect to the Exchange server in the same way as PC versions.

In Exchange 2016, the OAB files are generated and stored in the Organization arbitration Mailbox with persisted capability first and later copied to the location %Exchange Install Path%\Client Access\OAB\ folder in the Mailbox Server.
This delay between an email account being create and being listed can cause organisational issue, like a users being unable to find the email address for a new staff member.
To resolve this you have two option, manually update the Address Book or customize the update schedule.
3)Exchange 2016 Mailbox Client access service queries Active Manager and finds out database hosting organization Arbitration mailbox.
4)Then OABGen Assistant from the Arbitration mailbox will provide the required information.
